If I Could Be A Character In A TV Show It Would Be...?

Seriously? Just one?

Okay. Let's start at the beginning when TV became more than just colorful, animated characters proving that ghosts are always criminals impersonating ghosts. Don't get me wrong. I LOVED Scooby-Doo, but once I entered middle school I needed something a bit more mature.

Enter My So Called Life.
Oh, Angela. You made me want red, one length hair that I could hide behind while daydreaming about Jordan Catalano. Sigh. Jordan. Why were you such a jerk?

Then, once they canceled that show and RUINED MY ENTIRE WORLD I moved on to Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

And it was so fun. I still wish I could be Buffy. I mean, who doesn't? The last few Halloweens I've had to choose between dressing up as Buffy or Katniss Everdeen. This year I was on deadline so I wore kitty ears and a tail. Word to the wise... if you're going to dress up like a cat remember you're still wearing a tail before you go grocery shopping. Without the ears you're just a grown woman with a tail.

Anywho.

Once Buffy ended I moved on to VERONICA MARS!!! THE best TV show EVER!!! Seriously. Why was this show canceled after THREE SEASONS? THREE SEASONS PEOPLE!! Veronica is such a strong character and her relationship with her father is awesome.
Life is so unfair.

But now I've moved on from high school shows. Yeah. Right.

I'm a tad bit obsessed with The Vampire Diaries.
I love it. And it's not because of those two bloodsucking brothers. Nope. It's sooo not. It's because the writers are awesome! And very very clever. Each character is layered and intriguing. I thought I would hate Caroline in the beginning and now she's one of my favorite characters. And Stefan. He was so boring in the beginning and now he's... not.

For all of you out there who need a little more boy in your show... I do have to give a special shout-out to Friday Night Lights. Even if you hate football (which I do) you will love this show. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll find yourself watching football and actually caring who wins. It takes some serious writing chops to do that folks.

  1. Hmm Buffy wasn't cancelled, I know Joss wanted to end the series on the 7th season because he knew that if he went any further that it would be like most other shows: be the end joke. And I agree with him on that. He left the show on a high note and a lot of the actors from the show, including Sarah, agreed it was best. Now 'My So-Called Life' was cancelled because it didn't get too many followers or a real fan base till after it was cancelled, kind of like the show 'Freeks and Geeks' and 'Firefly'.

Anyway, if i had to be a character, I'd probably would have picked Buffy Summers, Peyton Sawyer (One Tree Hill), or Audrey Parker (Haven) as a character I'd like to be from a show.
