Friday Reads!

Lenore Appelhans:
I am reading THE WAY WE FALL by Megan Crewe. It's epistolary - a girl writing letters to a friend about a strange epidemic that's killing off residents of her island. I'm usually not a fan of this format, but so far, I'm glued to the page.

Jodi Meadows
I just finished reading A NEED SO BEAUTIFUL by Suzanne Young. I loved the writing, the choices Charlotte is forced to make, and the dark forces standing in her way. And that ending! Killer!

Jessica Souders:
I'm reading WOLFSBANE by Andrea Cremer. I LOVED NIGHTSHADE and have been early awaiting WOLFSBANE. I'm about 100 pages in and addicted already. Andrea drops you right into the middle of the action and doesn't let you take even a tiny breath. I think the worst part, is I was VERY Team Shay for NIGHTSHADE, but I find myself inpatiently wanting to see Ren. o.O Okay, so that's not a bad part. I get to drool over two hot guys. There's never anything bad about that. :P

Veronica Rossi:
I'm reading an ARC of LEGEND by Marie Lu. I've been looking forward to this book for so long that I was worried I'd be let down when I finally got it. On the contrary--I'm loving it. Dual POVs. Post-apocalyptic. Plenty of action and a great pace. I'm just 100 pages in after a few days, but I'd be finished if it weren't for my writing deadlines.

Elizabeth Norris:
I'm just starting THE HELP. I've been wanting to read it for a while since I've heard so many good things about it!

Heather Anastasiu:
I'm reading WOLFSBANE by Andrea Cremer. I'm so stoked to read this sequel! I loved Nightshade hard and have been wanting so badly to see what happens next after the cliffhanger ending of book one!

Emily Hainsworth:
This week I read BRUISER by Neal Shusterman. I was already a huge, huge fan after reading UNWIND, and this book was right up there with it in wow-I-wish-I'd-written-this territory. It's not really sci-fi, but it isn't fantasy either. I don't want to give the premise away since it is SO intriguing to read as it unfolds, but when the title character (a withdrawn social reject) begins to care about people...interesting and sometimes disturbing things start to happen. I haven't read another story quite like this.


Jennifer Rush:

I'm reading THE GIRL IN THE STEEL CORSET this week and loving it. The writing has a great authentic historical feel to it, with a little bit of steampunk thrown in. Lots of action, strong heroine, and strong supporting characters. I'm new to the steampunk subgenre, but I must say, I'm digging it and looking forward to picking up a few more.

I'm about to start An Abundance of Katherines by John Green.

Susanne Winnacker:

I started ON WRITING by Stephen King yesterday. I love reading about King’s childhood and how he started writing. It’s fascinating to finally “meet” the man behind all the books I’ve read, to “hear” his own voice.
